The 2007 Carlyle Cup Team Championship will be held Sunday-Tuesday, October 21-23, at Pinehurst, when Duke and Carolina will each field a golf team made up of of alumni and supporters in a Ryder Cup format on Pinehurst No. 2 and No. 4. This will be the fourth annual Team Championship, with UNC alumni having won twice and Duke once.
The full-handicap event is open to alumni of each school, members of the Iron Dukes and Rams Club, or guests of either. Players competing the first three years will get priority, but the field is expanding in 2007 with a projected 48 golfers on each team.
This year, two-ball matches will be played on Pinehurst No. 2 and singles matches on Pinehurst No. 4. Entry fee includes both rounds, team uniforms, two nights at Pinehurst Resort, two breakfasts, lunches and dinners with an open bar, plus special events and entertainment.
