Duke Sweeps Cross Country Points

Duke captured both Carlyle Cup points at stake in the ACC Cross Country Championships Saturday in College Park, Maryland by virtue of finishing ahead of UNC in both the men's and women's competition.

Duke won the women’s competition with 29 points and edged UNC, which had 56. Duke's Sally Meyerhoff won the women's 6K with a time of 21:34.2, 12 seconds ahead of second-place finisher, UNC’s Carol Henry.

The Blue Devil runners were fifth in the men's division with 99 points, far ahead of the Tar Heel men at 295. Duke was led by sixth place overall finisher, Nick Schneider, who finished the 8k race in a time of 24:53.3.
