Beatty’s Son Wins TAGHeuer Watch at UNC-Kentucky Game

Tully Beatty, 36, the son of UNC All-American and Olympic track star Jim Beatty won the Carlyle & Co. Shootout at halftime of the UNC-Kentucky basketball game on December 4 in Chapel Hill. Beatty currently lives in Wilmington, where he and his father are collaborating on a book on Jim Beatty’s career. Winner Tully Beatty with Carlyle & Co. President John Cohen Beatty swished two free throws under pressure to win a new TAGHeuer Formula One wrist watch with a stainless steel case, titanium-coated bezel, and special rubber strap. The watch is valued at $600 and can been seen with the complete line of TAGHeuer watches Carlyle & Co. jewelers. Six other runner-up contestants received TAGHeuer gift bags from Carlyle & Co., Mark Embree of Charlotte; Anna Glasgow of Salisbury, Julia Jackson of Chesapeake, Va.; Dustin Pait of Charleston, S.C.; Michael Privette of Charlotte and Janice Tillman of Chapel Hill. Carlyle & Co distributed 10,000 “turn it blue” TAGHeuer T-shirts to fans at the UNC-Kentucky game, along with 1,000 light blue Santa hats to the students sitting behind the home basket.
